Description: The first F-Series truck (known as the Ford Bonus-Built) was introduced in 1948 as a replacement for the previous car-based pickup line introduced in 1941. The F-Series trucks had a flat, one-piece windshield and integrated headlamps as well as a wider cab and options which included the "See-Clear" windshield washer (operated by foot plunger), passenger-side windshield wiper and passenger-side taillight. The F-1 pickup truck was also available with additional chrome trim and two horns as an option. Presented here is a gorgeous, fully frame off restored 1951 Ford F-1 truck. This 1951 F-1 is powered by a period correct 8BA - 239ci Flathead V8 engine which produced roughly 100 horsepower and transferred power to the ground through a 3 speed floor shifted straight cut gear transmission. The F-1 is shown in a custom, laser straight and mirror like finished, two tone medium blue metallic with black fenders and running boards. This F-1 is equipped with the optional two horns under the hood as well as the passenger windshield wiper and passenger side rear taillight. Other features of the exterior are a passenger side mirror, re-chromed bumpers and trim pieces as well as a new wooden bed floor with stainless trim inserts which accents the rear of the truck beautifully. The interior of the F-1 is completely restored and painted medium blue metallic to match the exterior and features a two tone black bench seat with dark blue inserts and black floor mat. The interior also features re-chromed gauge bezels, period correct black cardboard headliner, an aftermarket water temperature, oil pressure and fuel gauge under the dash board. To finish off the look of the F-1, it has been equipped with 16 inch steel wheels which have been freshly painted black and wrapped in wide white wall tires which are accented by chrome beauty rings and period correct “Ford” embossed hub caps. Take home 1st place or best in show at any car show or meet and be the talk of the town in this truly perfect and amazing piece of early Ford post war pickups!
